More apples, any ideas?

Just when I thought I had caught up with all the apples my neighbors had generously given me, what appears on my doorstep this morning?

Another bucketful of apples!

Looks like it's back to the chopping block for me. (Thank you, Carol & Bill; you rock!)

If anyone has suggestions for using apples in anything other than applesauce, please let me know.

I suppose I could dry some in the oven ... make pie filling and freeze it ... or maybe more applesauce!

  1. I must say, your apple pie looks gorgeous. I love to cook but have a sweet tooth and try not to bake or I will eat it all!!! Try the epicurious.com site and type in apples. People vote on the winning dishes and they seem to turn out great. Love your blog and hope you'll visit us soon! Ciao!

  4. Good ideas, Jenn. I'm thinking of canning apple butter this weekend — it would make some nice little holiday gifts!
I think apple cake is in order, too; an extra one or two for the freezer.
    ;-)
