Italian as easy as ABC
Learning a language comes easily for children — they are like sponges when it comes to absorbing a new tongue.
That is why I am glad to help spread the word about a new book by author/illustrator Sonya Caruso, who wrote “ABC Italiano,” an Italian language book for children.
Joe over at Italyville did a Q&A with the author.
For every comment he receives on that post (up to 50 comments) he will purchase a copy of the book.
I, along with some of my favorite Italian-oriented bloggers, will help him distribute them.
As a first generation Italian-American, I regret not picking up the language as a child. My parents, both immigrants, wanted only the best for their children, so in order to live the “American Dream,” they decided not to use their native tongue with us kids. (Plus, it was a good way for them to talk so we could not understand them!)
But that is history, and today I try my best to carry on the rich culture into which I was born. My husband and I can exchange a few words and phrases, but our lifestyle is full with the Italian heritage and experience.
So, go visit Joe and his wonderful blog and leave a comment on the Q&A post.
Also take a peek into the kitchens of Linda at Ciao Chow Linda, Marie at Proud Italian Cook and Claudia at Journey of an Italian Cook.
It’s never too late to learn the ABCs of Italian, something I try to do a little every day.
And if you have a little one in your life, let this book help them learn a new language that will only enhance their lives as they get older.
Thanks so much for the shout-out. Let's hope Joe gets his 50 comments so the book can be dispersed.
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to get a grasp on that beautiful language. Here's hoping Joe is successful and the books spread near and far!
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking that I need to learn more Italian as we have relatives in Italy and when we visit them it's so hard to communicate. Cute book!
ReplyDeleteReally, these books are a must-have for families with babies.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope Joe gets lots of exposure for this great project.
I would be glad to send you a copy, Michele, if they come through. I'll e-mail you later.
Thanks for the help Barbara! If you haven't received them yet, they are on the way. Saluti! Joe
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Joe. They arrived on my doorstep yesterday. They will be put to good use; that was very generous of you! Grazie.
